Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data EazyTeach ("we", "us") collects when you use eazyteach.com and the EazyTeach platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. The data user is Cardiff Private Limited (楷迪有限公司), Flat 6E01, 6/F., Mai Gar Industrial Building, No. 146 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong. We comply with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), and with comparable data protection law where our users are located.
Data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), role (teacher or student), and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us.
- Content you upload — documents, questions, papers, homework, and submissions you create or upload while using the platform.
- Billing data — subscription plan and payment status. Card details are processed by Stripe, our payment provider, and never touch our servers.
- Usage data — log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and feature usage, used for security, debugging, and improving the product.
How we use your data
- To provide the service: storing your question banks, running homework, and marking submissions.
- To process documents you upload with AI services that extract questions and generate answers (see below).
- To send service emails such as password resets, homework deadline reminders, and billing notices.
- To secure the platform, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data to anyone.
AI processing
When you use AI features (such as question extraction or answer generation), the relevant document content is sent to our AI service providers (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to perform the requested processing. We send only what is needed for the feature and do not permit these providers to use your content to train their models under our agreements with them.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as language. In addition, we use Google AdSense to display advertising on some pages, which helps keep the platform's free tier running.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
Students and children
Student accounts exist so that students can receive and submit homework assigned by their teacher. We collect only the minimum data needed for this, and we do not use student submission content for advertising. Where students are minors, we expect accounts to be created with the involvement of their school, teacher, or parent/guardian.
Data sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run the platform:
- Cloud hosting providers, which store our databases and files.
- Stripe, for payment processing.
- AI providers, for the processing described above.
- Google, for sign-in (if you choose Google sign-in) and advertising as described above.
- Email delivery providers, for the service emails described above.
We may also disclose data where required by law.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual content at any time, and you can request full account deletion by contacting us; we will delete your personal data within 30 days except where we are legally required to retain records (for example, billing records).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and industry-standard precautions, and we will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to, or correction of, your personal data, and withdraw consent to its use (which may require closing your account). To exercise these rights, contact us via the details on our contact page.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify account holders by email or an in-product notice.
